Webinar - WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GOOGLE – Social Media Screening, September 6, 2018 at 2 pm EDT. Are you looking at too much information on an applicant by looking at their social media profile?  Perhaps a photo or something blogged about is considered protected information such as race, color, national origin, religion, gender, disability, age and citizenship status which are all protected characteristics. If a candidate feels he or she was not hired because of one of these traits, that person can sue for discrimination.

A Critical Industry Tool - Social media is a powerful communication tool that more employers are using as a means of vetting applicants prior to a hire. About four in 10 companies harnessed social media or online searches to screen job candidates in 2015, an increase from 33 percent in 2013, according to a survey from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
